For Immediate Release

Yes, You Will Still Be Able To Get To The Airport - 670 East is Still Open

Beginning September 10, the exit from I-71 north to I-670 east will be closed for 60 days as part of the reconstruction of I-71/670 in downtown Columbus.

For drivers trying to get to Port Columbus International Airport, the posted detour is SR 315 north to I-670 east. You can also exit at Leonard Avenue, proceed through several traffic signals to access I-670 east.

The ramp is closing to allow crews to safely demolish a bridge, build new roadway, walls and the new exit ramp from I-71north to I-670 east.

Crews have two months or 60 days maximum, weather permitting, to complete the work.

Construction on the $200 million project that will build 22 new bridges, 31 retaining walls and an additional travel lane on I-670 began a year ago.
Up-to-date traffic and construction information, 24-hours a day, along with information about I-70/I-71 Corridor can be found at www.odot71670.org.
